Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Wednesday by 1.8% compared to the previous day to reach 937,995 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 43,452 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,306 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 941,200 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.7% increase compared to the previous day.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.21% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, hydroelectricity power plants held a 25.10% share while imported coal plants comprised 21.95%.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,471 megawatt-hours while imports reached 1,266 megawatt-hours.
