Turkeys Daily Power Consumption Up 1.03% on Nov. 5

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.03% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 832,551 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday

Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time reaching 39,941 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,207 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.


Electricity production amounted to 843,133 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.09% increase compared to the previous day.


While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 29% of total electricity consumption on Thursday, imported coal plants held a 23.5% share while wind plant comprised 17%.

On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,654 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 1,072 megawatt-hours.
