Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 17.9% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 884,379 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday at 10.00 local time

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,341 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,881 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 896,852 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 18.18% increase from Sunday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 21.2% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 19.5%, while imported coal plants held a 14.7% share.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,136 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,360 megawatt-hours.
