Rospan, the gas-producing subsidiary of Russian-U.K. energy venture OAO TNK-BP (TNBP.RS), must construct a link to OAO Gazprom's (GAZP.RS) network in order to ship bigger volumes, the Vedomosti business daily reported Tuesday, citing a TNK-BP spokesman.

Rospan is able to ship just 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas through state-owned Gazprom's pipes this year, compared with planned production of 3.4 billion cubic meters.

Building the link - which would cost $250 million to $300 million, according to one analyst interviewed by the paper - would allow Rospan to deliver 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas a year to 2012.
