Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will use a forthcoming visit to Russia to renegotiate a gas supply contract, the International Herald Tribune reports Wednesday.

Speaking in Brussels, Tymoshenko said she will demand Russia's state-owned OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) deal directly with the Ukrainian state and oil company, rather than through what she called "shadowy middlemen." She also said she wants to raise transit fees for Russian exports through Ukraine and bring the price of gas supplied to Ukraine in line with market prices.

Tymoshenko visits Russia on Feb. 21.
