The European Commission is planning to turn to the European Court over the Hungarian state's preference share in oil and gas company MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU), business daily Vilaggazdasag said.
Brussels launched an investigation into the matter in summer 2006.
The Commission is also investigating anti-takeover legislation, known as 'lex MOL,' passed by the Hungarian parliament with the aim of defending strategic companies from hostile takeovers.
The ruling of the European Court can't be appealed by Hungary, the paper said.
