Czech state-controlled power company CEZ AS (BAACEZ.PR) said Monday it intends to build a 48 megawatt windmill park in southeastern Czech Republic.

The park calls for 16 wind-powered electricity generators, each with output of up to 3 megawatts, to be built by end-2011, said Josef Sedlak, head of CEZ's renewables unit, CEZ Obnovitelne Zdroje.

This planned windmill park complements CEZ's three other planned windmill parks.

To date, CEZ has planning approval for three parks that would have a total installed capacity of 110 megawatts should they be built.

Electricity produced using renewable resources, mostly via the company's 21 hydropower stations, accounts for roughly 5% of CEZ's total power generation.

The remainder of CEZ's power is generated using coal, 50% of all generation, and the rest mostly from its two nuclear power plants.
