Poland's Treasury isn't at present working on any merger between the country's oil refiners PKN Orlen SA (PKN.WA) and Grupa Lotos SA (LTS.WA), Deputy Treasury Minister Krzysztof Zuk said Thursday.

Zuk added that the Treasury intends to transfer all its shares in oil exploration company Petrobaltic to Lotos.

Lotos has a stake of over 60% in Petrobaltic, while the remaining shares are owned by the Treasury.

Zuk also told journalists that the ministry intends to sell its shares in Lotos in 2009, but the details and the method of the sale are yet to be defined.
