RAO Unified Energy System of Russia (EESR.RS), or UES, Thursday said it will auction a 21.27% stake in OAO Bashkirenergo (BEGY.RS) May 23, with a starting price of 11 billion rubles ($464.7 million).
Last July, UES said it was seeking to raise $2 billion by selling non-core assets, including the stake in Bashkirenergo, a regional utility based in Tatarstan.
The sales should take place before UES' liquidation is completed this summer.
