German energy utility E.ON AG (EOA.XE) faces a strike Wednesday by unions seeking an 8.5% wage boost, according to Die Welt's Web site on Sunday.
The warning strike would be the first in the company's history, the newspaper said. The unions want the strike to send a strong signal to the company, the newspaper said.
