The Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE), which is a nonprofit organisation based in Athens (see www.IENE.eu) seeks to appoint an experienced professional who will take charge of the Institute’s fund raising activities. As the Institute’s diverse activities are fast developing all over South East Europe and cover several disciplines it needs to raise funds in order to maintain its momentum, plan its actions well ahead and finance its various programmes.

 

The Institute of Energy for SE Europe (IENE), which is a nonprofit organisation based in Athens (see www.IENE.eu) seeks to appoint an experienced professional who will take charge of the Institute’s fund raising activities. As the Institute’s diverse activities are fast developing all over South East Europe and cover several disciplines it needs to raise funds in order to maintain its momentum, plan its actions well ahead and finance its various programmes.

These programmes include research and studies on energy economics, Renewable Energy Sources, electricity grids, energy storage, energy efficiency, energy poverty, energy market operation and optimisation, security of energy supply, nuclear power adapted to regional needs, hydrogen as a fuel of the future, Carbon Capture and Storage systems, assessment of hydrocarbon exploration studies, regional energy trade and cooperation, geopolitical perspectives and energy policy.

The successful fund raising professional is expected to have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar post and to have a humanities, science or engineering degree. This is a full-time appointment based at the Institute’s offices in Athens with frequent opportunities for travel mainly in Europe. The successful candidate will report directly to the Institute’s Executive Director and will have considerable freedom to structure his or her daily work programme and reporting format.

Renumeration will consist of a combination of a fixed monthly salary plus a results driven bonus. In assessing renumeration the candidate’s previous experience and achievements will be taken into consideration while his or her ability and potential to function as part of a team and contribute to the collective effort will also count.
