Iran's oil product sales reached $47 billion last year, the Oil Ministry's Shana news agency reported Saturday, citing a senior oil official.

Aminollah Eskandari, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company's manager for refining affairs, said that the cost of refining one barrel of crude oil last year was between 70 cents and $1.20, Shana said.

The Iranian year ends March 20.

Eskandari added that Iran's domestic refining capacity is expected to increase this year to 1.65 million barrels a day and that the country's refinery in Abadan, which can refine 400,000 barrels per day, has the highest daily refining capacity out of all of Iran's refineries, according to Shana.

Abadan is located in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan province.

"At present, Iran's refineries produce 44 million liters a day of gasoline, 81 million liters a day of gasoil, 78 million liters per day of kiln oil, 3 million liters a day of jet fuel and 21 million liters per day of consuming and industrial kerosene," the senior oil official said.

Eskandari added that high oil prices resulted in a $2 to $7 increase in the price per barrel for oil products last year, Shana reported.
