Spanish utility Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC) is interested in the assets that may have to be sold by Gas Natural SDG SA (GAS.MC) following its takeover offer on Union Fenosa SA (UNF.MC), Spanish news agency Europa Press reported Wednesday, citing company sources.
"If the assets were interesting and were put on the market at a reasonable price and conditions, we will study them," the agency said, quoting company sources.
Spanish energy and antitrust regulators have yet to decide which assets need to be sold following the companies' tie-up. The market is already expecting that most of the assets to be disposed of will be in the gas sector, said Europa Press.
