Russian oil major Lukoil Holdings (LKOH.RS) is interested in buying a stake in one of the three large Czech crude oil refiners, Hospodarske Noviny daily newspaper reports Friday, citing Lukoil's president.
Lukoil currently owns and runs the network of Jet gas stations scattered across the Czech Republic, Slovakia and a few other European countries. Lukoil bought the Jet gas pump chain from ConocoPhillips (COP), which in turn holds a minority stake in Lukoil.
"We'd also like to buy a stake in one of the large (Czech) refineries," Alekperov said, according to the newspaper, without elaborating further.
