The Russian government's subsoil agency Rosnedra has set a high starting price of 1.66 billion rubles ($50.3 million) at a tender for the license to the East Talakan oil and gas field in Eastern Siberia, the Vedomosti daily says Wednesday citing the agency.

The East Talakan field holds proven and probable reserves - under Russian standards - of 9.9 million barrels of oil, 22.9 billion cubic meters of gas and 0.2 million metric tons of gas condensate.

OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) and Surgutneftegas (SNGS.RS) are most likely to get the rights to the field, as it is located next to assets they already own, the paper says.
