Anglo-Russian oil joint venture TNK-BP Holding (TNBP.RS) has restarted talks with former Norilsk Nickel (GMKN.RS) Chief Executive Denis Morozov to become the new head of the company, the Vedomosti daily reports Tuesday citing sources close to Morozov.

TNK-BP have been searching for a new CEO since Robert Dudley was ousted following a shareholder dispute last year between U.K. oil major BP PLC (BP) and a group of Russian billionaires.

Morozov had long been seen as the favorite to head the company, but talks broke down last month due to disagreements over final terms on the CEO's responsibilities and powers and his compensation package.

Those issues remain but Morozov now often appears at TNK-BP's headquarters and has already made acquaintance with the management, the daily reports.
