Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has put off a planned visit Monday to a summit in Russia until Tuesday after his disputed election victory, an Iranian delegation source said.

"Not today. Tomorrow," a source in the Iranian delegation for the summit told AFP when asked about Ahmadinejad's attendance.

Ahmadinejad was due to attend both days of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit as an observer and hold bilateral talks later Monday with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Kremlin officials had said.

A Kremlin official also confirmed that the Iranian president wasn't coming Monday and said his attendance the next day would only be confirmed later in the day.

"It will become clear by the evening. It will all depend on the situation in their country."
