Russia produced an average of 9.966 million barrels a day of crude oil and gas condensate in August, up 0.6% from July, the news agency Interfax reported Wednesday, citing Ministry of Industry and Energy statistics.
The country produced 42.149 million metric tons of oil in August, Interfax reported, citing data from the TsDU-TEK department of the Industry and Energy Ministry.
In the first eight months of the year, Russia's production totaled 326.652 million tons of crude oil and condensate, up 0.4% on the year.
Russia's overall oil output in 2008 totaled 488.12 million tons, averaging 9.78 million barrels a day, up 0.9% on the previous year.
Russia's natural gas production plummeted 19.1% in the first eight months of the year to 359.585 billion cubic meters, including 43.35 billion in August, Interfax reported.
