The ministers of the 15-member Gas Exporting Countries Forum will meet in Doha, Qatar, on Dec. 9, Iranian state-controlled Press TV reports on its Web site, citing Iran's representative to GECF Mohammad-Ali Khatibi.
Khatibi is quoted as saying that the ministers would discuss the appointment of the organization's secretary general, the inauguration of its permanent secretariat headquarters as well as the status of gas prices in international markets.
He said the permanent headquarters of the GECF, also known as the "gas OPEC," will be officially inaugurated in Doha, Press TV reports.
The Netherlands has been accepted as the newest observer to the group, he said, adding that Kyrgyzstan and Norway have also attended the previous session of the organization as observers.
