Total SA's (TOT) U.K. gas and power division has been awarded a GBP80-million-a year contract, starting in April 2010, to supply natural gas to Scotland's public sector, said the U.K. Department of Business, Innovation and Skills in a statement Friday.
Total SA's (TOT) U.K. gas and power division has been awarded a GBP80-million-a year contract, starting in April 2010, to supply natural gas to Scotland's public sector, said the U.K. Department of Business, Innovation and Skills in a statement Friday.

The contract, awarded in a competitive tender, will save GBP5 million a year, the statement said. It also provides public sector buildings with access to energy management measures to improve energy efficiency and cut demand.

Total is the fourth-largest operator of oil and gas fields in the U.K. North Sea.
