Brazilian state-run energy giant Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PBR), or Petrobras, notified the country's National Petroleum Agency, or ANP, it has discovered signs of gas at an offshore block along the coast of southeastern Brazil .

Petrobras said it found traces of gas in a well drilled at the ES-M-468 block, located in the region of
Espirito Santo State .

The successful well was 1BRSA783AESS.

Oil companies operating in
Brazil must inform the ANP of indications of oil, gas or hydrocarbons in any exploratory well within 48 hours.

Petrobras officially registered the find with the ANP on February 25.

The disclosures are routine, and do not indicate commercial viability.
