Terna SpA (TRN.MI) expects Italy 's electricity demand to grow between 1.3% and 1.6% this year, said Flavio Cattaneo, chief executive officer of Italy 's biggest power grid by capacity, Tuesday.

The increase of recent months, including the first indications for May, point to such an annual growth, said the CEO on a conference call to comment on first-quarter results released earlier Tuesday. He added that most of the growth is expected from the industrial sector.

Terna forecasts its 2010 cost of debt to be less than 3.5%, said Chief Financial Office Fabio Todeschini on the same call.
