Only four or five new nuclear power plants are likely to be constructed in the U.S. by 2020, analysts with Simmons & Company International write in a note to clients. "Within the US , despite recent positive talk from the Federal Government, in general we believe that the 'new nuclear' build-out is progressing at a slower pace than we would like to see," Simmons writes. NRG Energy Inc. (NRG), Constellation Energy Group (CEG) and Scana Corp. (SCG) are finalists for nuclear loan guarantees from the federal government. NRG and Constellation have said they won't go forward with their projects without the guarantees.
