Spanish renewable energy company Iberdrola Renovables SA (IBR.MC) Friday said it has won bids in a joint-venture with Brazilian energy company Neoenergia to develop and run for a period of 20 years nine wind parks in Brazil, the Spanish company said in a release.

The wind parks are slated to start operations in January 2013, and will have a joint capacity to generate 258 megawatts of electricity.

Iberdrola Renovables estimates the value of electricity sales from the contract at about EUR60 million a year. The company already operates a 49-MW wind park in
Brazil .

Brazil 's electricity clearinghouse Thursday auctioned projects for 50 wind farms that will sell electricity at an average price of 134.23 Brazilian reals ($72.27) per megawatt hour, 9.5% cheaper than at a similar auction last year.

Iberdrola Renovables is a unit of Spanish power utility Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC), and the world's biggest wind-power generator.

Iberdrola owns 39% in Neoenergia.
