Russian gas producer OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) expects pricing issues with Italian utility Edison SpA (EDN.MI) to be solved out of court, the company's Deputy Chief Executive Alexander Medvedev said Monday.
Russian gas producer OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) expects pricing issues with Italian utility Edison SpA (EDN.MI) to be solved out of court, the company's Deputy Chief Executive Alexander Medvedev said Monday.

"We are confident we can find a solution without any legal settlement or arbitration," Medvedev said during a conference call.

Edison said last month it would pursue an arbitration process against Promgas, a joint venture between Gazprom and Eni SpA (E), if its doesn't agree to review prices under its take-or-pay contracts.

Edison buys 2 billion cubic meters of Russian gas a year from Promgas.
