A Russian court has rejected a TNK-BP Holding (TNBP.RS) shareholder motion seeking access to documents in computers of the company and BP (BP.LN), Interfax reports Thursday, citing the court's spokesman.

The
Tyumen region arbitration court rejected a motion the shareholder of the joint venture filed against BP, the spokesman told the newswire.

The motion is part of a planned lawsuit seeking between $5 billion and $10 billion from BP, according to Interfax.

The court couldn't be immediately reached by Dow Jones Newswires.

TNK-BP, BP and the lawyers of the shareholder declined to comment immediately on the court proceedings.
