China Coal Energy Co. (1898.HK), the country's second-largest coal producer by revenue, said Wednesday that it aims to boost its coal output to 200 million metric tons a year in 2015.

President Yang Lieke told reporters the company plans launch new coal mines and acquire coal assets from its parent, adding that its Donglutian coal mine in
Northern China 's Shanxi province is expected to start trial production in September.

Donglutian could produce 10 million tons in 2012, he said.

Beijing-based China Coal said Tuesday that its first-half net profit rose 7.8% to CNY5.6 billion from CNY5.2 billion a year earlier, helped by an increase coal sales volume.

In 2010, the company produced 123.3 million tons of coal, up 22% on year.
