North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il arrived in China Thursday following a visit to Russia where he held a rare Siberian summit with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Xinhua news agency reported.

It described the trip as a "stopover" but China 's foreign ministry refused to reveal to AFP whether Kim would be meeting with Chinese officials or if he was only transiting the nation on his return to North Korea .
