French power operator GDF Suez SA's (GSZ.FR) Chairman and Chief Executive Gerard Mestrallet Friday said "things are fine" now that natural gas regulated tariffs in France have been increased.

Reversing an initial price freeze, the French government had to increase gas tariffs on Jan.1 by 4.4% following a complaint by local gas operators.

Asked about its nuclear activities in Belgium and potential extra safety costs, mirroring those imposed by the French nuclear safety watchdog earlier this week on French operator Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR), Mestrallet said that he wasn't worried.
