Planned annual maintenance at the pipeline running into the Russian Baltic Sea port of Primorsk is a major reason for a fall in export volumes of Russian Urals crude in February, a spokesman for Russian state oil pipeline operator OAO Transneft (TRNFP.RS) said Wednesday.

Exports from Primorsk are set to fall to 5.4 million metric tons in February, compared with exports of 6.4 million tons originally scheduled for January, according to the preliminary loading program seen by Dow Jones Newswires last week.

The maintenance is expected to last three days, but could be extended by a day if some issues are found that need to be addressed, said the Transneft spokesman.
