Gazprom will sign a new deal regarding terms for the Shtokman gas fields at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum later this week, the company's Chief Executive, Alexei Miller, said Tuesday.

"At the
St Petersburg forum we will hold final discussions with our international partners regarding the Shtokman project," Miller said in a press release. "The discussions will generate new agreements, which will replace the old ones, which are only in effect until July 1."

The St Petersburg Economic Forum runs from June 21-24.

Gazprom , Russia 's largest exporter of natural gas, owns 51% of the Shtokman development, while France 's Total SA (TOT) owns 25% and Norway 's Statoil ASA (STO) owns 24%.

Earlier Tuesday, Shtokman Development AG could neither confirm nor deny newspaper reports that its entire staff had been fired by Gazprom.
