Danish Vestas
Wind Systems A/S, the world's largest manufacturer of wind
turbines, Friday named Jean-Marc Lechene, 53, as its new chief operating
officer effective July 1.
Bert Nordberg, chairman of Vestas,
said "it is crucial for Vestas
that our operation is lean and effective, making sure our production
setup is as cost effective as possible."
Lechene has worked as a private consultant implementing cost
reduction projects, as general director at Michelin (Heavy Weight Tires
Europe) and held several positions at Lafarge S.A.
At 0723 GMT Vestas
shares traded 3.5% higher at DKK31.06.
