Dong Energy A/S's order for 300 Siemens AG (SI) wind turbines is worth about 2.5 billion to 2.7 billion euros ($3.1 billion to $3.3 billion), a person with knowledge of the situation told Dow Jones Newswires Thursday.

Siemens said earlier Thursday that it has signed a deal with the Danish energy company to supply the 1,800 megawatt turbines for wind power plants of the U.K. coast between 2014 and 2017.
