Oil output in Azerbaijan fell 6.5% in the first seven months of 2012 compared with the year earlier period, to 25.9 million metric tons, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, or SOCAR, said Thursday.
The country's natural-gas production rose 2.8% to 15.5 billion cubic meters.
In 2011, Azerbaijan's oil output was 45.4 million tons, or 10.6% less than in 2010, while natural gas production dropped by 2.3% to 25.7 billion cubic meters.
