China 's electricity output in August totaled 444.49 billion kilowatt hours, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission said Tuesday.

This was up 4.3% compared with a year earlier, according to Dow Jones Newswires calculation.

In the January-August period, electricity output totalled 3.25 trillion kWh, according to SERC. This was up 5.5% compared with the same period a year earlier, according to Dow Jones Newswires calculation.
