Spain 's Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica SA (GAM.MC) said Tuesday that China Guangdong Nuclear Group Energy Ltd. has awarded it a contract to supply 58 wind turbines.

Gamesa, which didn't provide financial details of the agreement, said the wind-energy generators have a total installed capacity of 49.3 megawatts and are destined for a wind farm now under construction in
Shandong province. It said the wind farm is expected to be connected to the electricity grid by the end of the year.

The wind turbines will have an individual capacity of 850 kilowatts.

Gamesa has supplied wind turbines with a capacity totaling 350 MW to Guangdong Nuclear since 2009 for the development of wind farms in the Chinese provinces of
Shandong , Liaoning and Heilongjiang .

Gamesa has operated in
China since 2000, installing more than 3,000 turbines at more than 60 sites across the country. As a wind-farm developer, the company's joint development pipeline in China now totals around 3,000 MW.

At 1125 GMT, Gamesa's shares were up 3.3% at EUR1.68.
