Russia and China will sign a deal on the price and route of Russian natural gas deliveries within months, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said Thursday, even as talks between top officials from both countries in Moscow appear to have yielded no breakthrough.

Russia, the world's largest energy producer, has for years tried to reach an agreement on gas supplies to southern neighbor China, but no final deal has ever been concluded amid disputes over price.
Russia has accelerated plans to sell more gas to Asia amid falling demand and regulatory pressure in the European Union, Russia 's most lucrative market.

Mr. Dvorkovich said Thursday that a route for deliveries--by pipeline or as liquefied natural gas--has yet to be agreed.
