Gazprom could help Novatek  find export customers for its Yamal liquefied natural gas project after the two agreed to form a joint venture to increase LNG production on the peninsula, says Alfa Bank. "Although this JV does not explicitly affect Novatek's Yamal LNG project, in which it is partnered with Total, we believe Gazprom is desperately trying to retain its export monopoly for LNG amid the ongoing pressure from the government as it mulls canceling Gazprom's monopoly," says Alfa.
