China 's coal imports rose to 110 million metric tons in the January to April period, up 25.6% when compared with the same period a year earlier, according to preliminary data issued Wednesday by the General Administration of Customs.

Customs didn't specify April import volumes or what types of coal were included in the figure.

Meanwhile,
China 's coal exports fell to 810,000 metric tons in April, down 2.4% from a year earlier, customs data showed.

From January to April,
China 's coal exports fell to 2.85 million tons, down 29.1% from a year earlier, according to the data.
