Norwegian oil major Statoil ASA (STL.OS) said Friday
it has accepted to pay a NOK30 million fine following a 2010 well control
incident on the Gullfaks C platform in the
North
Sea
.
MAIN FACTS:
-Statoil
was fined for the incident by the public prosecutor for Rogaland county earlier
this year.
-The incident has been thoroughly examined both by Statoil and other parties,
the company said, adding that "an extensive improvement programme has been
implemented throughout the company to ensure that learning is gained from the
incident."
