Iraq 's crude oil exports fell 6.5% on the month in June due to suspension of exports from northern oil fields for more than 10 days and bad weather in the southern export terminals, according to people familiar with Iraq 's State Oil Marketing Organization.

The people said
Iraq exported 2.328 million barrels a day of crude oil in June, compared with 2.480 million barrels a day in May.

An explosion that hit part of the northern export pipeline that carries crude from
Kirkuk oil fields to the Turkish Ceyhan port has suspended exports for more than 10 days, the people told Dow Jones Newswires Wednesday.

Iraq exported 2.135 million barrels a day from southern oil fields in June via exports terminals in the Gulf, compared with 2.197 million barrels a day the previous month, they said.

About 193,000 barrels a day were exported from northern oil fields to the Mediterranean
port of Ceyhan , compared with 283,000 barrels a day the previous month, they added.

Iraq is targeting to export an average of 2.9 million barrels a day in 2013, but so far this year the country is yet to export 2.5 million barrels a day.

Exports from the
Kurdistan region in northern Iraq have been suspended since last year due to a dispute between Kurdish authorities and the central government over payments to contracting companies. The Kurds say they can export up to 250,000 barrels a day.
