China 's coal exports rose to 820,000 metric tons in July, up 64.0% from a year earlier, according to preliminary data issued Thursday by the General Administration of Customs.

Customs didn't specify July import volumes for coal.

From January to July, China 's coal exports fell to 4.9 million tons, down 22.0% from a year earlier, the data showed.
