Upon his arrival to the European Council earlier, the Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, stated:
"I am very confident that all together we can find a mutually viable solution in order to healthe woundsof austerity, to tackle humanitarian crisis across [the] European Union, and to bring Europe back to the road of growth and social cohesion."
Earlier this week the Tsipras government received a vote of confidence from the Greek Parliament. The following morning saw an emergency meeting of the Eurogroup, yet no agreement was achieved.
