A political memorandum for the construction of an oil pipeline from the Bulgarian Black Sea port of Burgas to Alexandroupolis in northern Greece will be signed by April 15 in Sofia, Deputy Minister for Development Giorgos Salagoudis announced yesterday in Moscow, where he led Greek representatives in meetings with the Russian and the Bulgarian governments. The announcement followed the submission of a favorable joint report by the group of companies of the three nations participating in the project. «Having examined all the financial parameters of the project and the satisfactory responses by the three governments to its questionnaire, the initiative group unreservedly recommended that three representations proceed to the signing of the memorandum,» Salagoudis said. If internal processes on the Russian side allow it, the agreement could be signed even earlier.
