Energias de Portugal set to invest EUR7.6 billion over the next three years in a bid to become one of the world’s biggest energy producers.
Company’s CEO said that EdP will invest in new wind farms EUR2.91 billion in the next three years and that will be the main driver of growth.
Half of the group’s planned investments would be in expansion projects, with wind energy representing 40% of total consolidated capital expenditure.
EdP has already made investments in wind farms in Spain, France and Belgium and plans to make similar acquisitions in the US and possibly in Italy and the UK.
