Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Nyrt. and Czech energy firm CEZ AS are to build two generators with an 800 megawatt capacity each in a joint venture, MOL Chief Financial Officer Jozsef Molnar said at a conference, as reported in business daily Napi Gazdasag.
MOL and CEZ will hold equal stakes in the joint venture, which will build one plant in Hungary and the other in Slovakia, the newspaper reported.
The two firms said in August that the power plants will supply MOL refineries in Hungary and Slovakia, but they didn't at that time specify the energy output of the plants.
The agreement for the project is to be finalized by the end of this year and will include the stipulation that CEZ will buy a stake of up to 10% in MOL, the companies have said.
