Iraq's Kurdish Regional Government Monday will unveil the award of five
new oil deals, with awardees including units of TNK-BP ,
Sterling Energy PLC and Korea's National Oil Corp., or KNOC, a
person familiar with the announcement said.
That person said the new
awardees for the production sharing contracts, or PSCs, are: Norbest
Limited, an affiliate of TNK-BP; HKN Energy, controlled by Hillwood
International Energy; Sterling Energy International Ltd, a wholly owned
unit of Sterling Energy LLC; KNOC-owned Bazian Ltd; and General
Exploration Partners, a wholly owned unit of Aspect Energy LLC.
The deals comes after a string of other recent PSCs
announced last week, including with MOL Nyrt and Gulf Keystone
Petroleum Ltd, despite Baghdad's opposition to such
agreements.
