OAO Gazprom Neft, 90%-owned by parent company OAO Gazprom , said Tuesday it has bought two oil fields in Western
Siberia's Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region.
The company didn't disclose financial details of the
transaction but said its new oil fields, North-Romanovsk and
Ortyangunsk, are situated close Gazprom Neft's existing oil fields in
the area.
The extractable reserves at the North-Romanovsk oil field
total 1.688 million metric tons, or the equivalent of 12.4 million
barrels, of C1 class crude oil and 2.08 million tons, or 15.3 million
barrels, of C2 class crude oil, Gazprom Neft said.
The field also contains 332 million cubic meters of C1 class
and 691 million cubic meters C2 class dissolved natural gas reserves.
The extractable oil reserves of the Ortyangunsk field are
estimated at 5.5 million tons, or 40.3 million barrels, without
specifying the grade, the company said, adding that it is planning to
carry out detailed seismic geological research of this field to assess
its capacity.
