Revision of Gas Pricing Formula May Reduce Gas Cost by 30%

Dow Jones] Europe could lower the price of gas and reduce the use of dirty coal in power generation by breaking the contractual link between oil and natural gas prices, says Andrew Ellis, Director of Natural Gas at Global Insight at the consultancy's European Fuel Price Conference. By pricing gas in accordance with supply and demand fundamentals, rather than a formula based on the price of oil, Europe could reduce its gas price by around a third by 2030
