German utility E.ON AG (EOA.XE) is in talks with Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA) over the oil company's stake in the high profile U.K. wind park project London Array, daily newspaper Boersen Zeitung reports Tuesday citing E.ON company sources.
E.ON wasn't immediately available to comment. Shell declined to comment on the report.
The London Array is the highest profile offshore wind project in the U.K.
Shell, E.ON UK and Denmark's Dong Energy were planning to place 346 large turbines in the River Thames Estuary in southeast England, providing 1,000 megawatts, or enough electricity for 75,000 homes. However, in early May Shell announced it plans to drop out of the project.
